Orlando Predators rookie kicker John Vaughn figures he already has endured the worst football has to offer. Vaughn logged four seasons as a kicker at Auburn, stepping up to kick several game-winning field goals and extra points in front of hostile crowds. "Once you've had 85,000 fans screaming at you, doing anything they can to make you mess up, you learn how to focus," he said. "You have to put everything else out of your mind so that it's just you, the holder, the ball and the goal posts." Predators Coach Jay Gruden wasn't convinced Vaughn was ready to handle a new dose of pressure in the Arena Football League, so he opted to go for a two-point conversion that failed instead of letting Vaughn attempt an extra point during Orlando's 54-53 loss at New Orleans on March 9.
